Chapter President, Geoff Kimbrough flew his RV-8 for the first time on April 8, 2008.
Made 4 flights - total of 1.8. The airplane flies just like Van advertises - climbs like a bat out of (well you know) and lands like a cub. Cruises at ~200 mph. Temps are all in the green. Stalls at 60 clean and 53 with flaps (mph). Wings level with no aileron pressure. Climbs 1800 fpm @ 120mph.
Congratulations Geoff!!!
Hans van der Vort won the Tony Bingelis Award: Best in Show with his Pientenpol Air Camper.
Jeff Fontenot won Grand Champion Classic with his 1947 Piper Cub Special.
Congratulations Hans and Jeff!!
Congratulations to George Gibson on the first flight of his Starduster Too. First flight was on August 5, 2007 and judging from the picture, he enjoyed it a little bit.
Congratulations George!!
I haven't gotten any new project photos or updates in an while. I know there are a lot of projects out there. Let's show the world how talented this chapter is.
Send your pictures, descriptions, or even your own website address here and I'll put them on the site.
Also, please send me emails and pictures of first flights, or major milestones in your project. What good is this website if we can't use it to help keep up with what all of our members are doing.
